In September 2025 I left London with the intention of moving to Australia, a dream I’d had for almost a year whilst waiting out the contract of my London job, but never quite fulfilled. In October I headed to the south coast of Sri Lanka to volunteer at a surf camp for a month. I loved it so much there that I decided to extend my time in Sri Lanka and move to Aus in the new year. But New Year came and I couldn’t bring myself to book my flight. I realised that I’d had enough sun, sea and surfing, and that Australia just wasn’t my dream destination any more. Also, EVERYONE was making that move which kind of put me off. Anyway, I went to a bodega and saw this mini globe and thought it would make an excellent drawing: a representation of my journey, showing a face of the globe that’s not often shown- including both Sri Lanka and Australia.
